Blessed Beyond Measure!

I am truly blessed.  In addition to the blessing of salvation.  In addition to the blessing of God’s amazing love and grace.  In addition to Jesus’ sacrifice for me.  In addition to Daddy’s promised gift of Holy Spirit.  Perhaps it’s not really in addition to all these things, but as an outflow of these things.  It was in thinking about the people with whom I recently had a heart-to-heart conversation that the overflowing sense of blessing spilled over into this message!

I am blessed to know several amazing missionaries around the world.  Blessed to have gone to some of the places where amazing missionaries give of their lives in reaching out with the love of Christ to people of other cultures.  Blessed to have given housing and food to several missionaries and their families over the years.  Blessed to be able to hear their heartbeat – for it’s the heartbeat of our God – for the people in the places they now call “home.”

Beyond all these missionary blessings, I am especially blessed to have the honor and privilege of calling some of these amazing people my friends – dear friends.  They don’t just want to know me so I’ll share their visions, sow into their ministries, or minister to their needs.  They want to know my heart, share my vision, and minister to my needs!  They truly want to be my friend.

Thank You, Daddy, for blessing me so richly, and for loving me so much as to bring friends like these into my life, over and over and over!  I truly am blessed beyond measure!

To You, My Friends

I’m going to try to paint a picture for you of my day today.  I’ve been sitting at the computer for quite a large part of it, trying to get this blog into a form that I like and that I think might work.  In addition, I’m continuing to transcribe the two most recent completed journals so that I’ll be all caught up.  I find, when I am in process of doing this job (typing entry after entry), I try not to write new journal entries so I won’t have to do so much typing later!  Like that’s really going to happen.

I have the windows open, though I’d rather use the AC.  The temperature is 80, which isn’t bad.  We’ve already had one heavy rainstorm, and there is enough moisture in the atmosphere to bring on more, so it’s pretty damp in the house.  The windows are open because the new ones are being installed.  The men are doing very fast work – trying to beat the rains.  In the process, there is a lot of pounding in various areas of the house.  At least Sandy has quit barking every time one of the men comes onto the front porch or even comes inside!

I looked at a book about friendship to find something for this first post, but decided that, for today, I’ll just be me and tell you both how I cherish your friendships.  You are such powerful women of God, whom I admire and in whom I see Jesus.  You also are just plain great sisters and friends!  Thank you for being in my life and letting me be in yours.
